Except Baby Namer has it wrong.  Growing up with this name, I can tell you that nicknames are “Reggie” and “Gina” more often than not, and that if you’re in Canada, it’s the capital of Saskatchewan, and rhymes with ‘vagina’.   Because that is as hi-larious the 1000th time you’ve heard it as it was the first time. Also the jingle, “Regina, Steamer, Carpet Cleaner”, for children of the 70s and 80s.
